Martoos Animation Inc., a Georgia based company, has begun the process of planning its headquarters in the Metro Atlanta area and intends to operate out of a physical plant over 40,000 sq. ft. in size to accommodate its team of animation artists and executives. “We’re excited at the prospect of impacting the people of our community, the film industry and the local economy,” says Delroy Brown, CEO of Martoos. “This location will offer space for expansion and provide direct benefits to the local community through employment and economic development,” he adds.
The studio’s presence in Georgia, an emerging leader for worldwide film production, will facilitate access to a healthy film industry infrastructure, a deep talent pool and a 30% tax credit for films developed in the state. The film industry generated an economic impact of more than $7 billion in Georgia during the last fiscal year, with more than $2 billion of that represented direct spending from 245 feature film and TV productions shot in Georgia during fiscal 2016.
